Mad tears for Smeagol

Musical cures... Today the Tears for Fears song Mad World performed by Gary Jules and Michael Andrews hit the spot. (It's weird I never really liked the original that much but now I have much more respect for the song)



 

 Then I found this...



 I loved the Smeagol character in Lord of the Rings. How Tolkien managed to squeeze sympathetic feelings toward that unlovely creature, the Golum, is wizardry. The Heroes of the story aren't always glorious but we want to identify with that part of them that is... But what about when we're selfish, self pitying and greedy? How do we redeem ourselves? This was a perfect song for Smeagol to sing.
