Ch..ch..ch..changes

Monday was an eventful day!
I started my new Job which has put me on a learning curve to rival Mt Everest and we received a phone call from the police advising that they'd found our bike!

Cool eh? With the new job our whole family routine is changing but things seem to be working out OK. No time for blogging though. :(

In my new job I'll be working as an admin-assistant and support worker for Aboriginal People in outback communities. Heavy stuff considering I don't yet have any language to speak with...
First priority is learn Yolngu Matha and Yolngu world view! Immediately

I am so pleased to hear about your bike!

Thanks Judy. I was a bit stunned. We'd just got one of the other bikes up and running again, which I must admit is faster, but will be very happy to use our cruiser whenever there's a chance. It's such a fun & practical bike.

hmm... Unfortunately I think I did so much complaining that I would have canceled out any good karma of my own. It must have been someone else's karma. ;)

Happy to hear that they have found your bike. Good luck with the new job.

Congratulations on both fronts! I'm sure you've already caught onto this, but if not, Yothu Yindi are a yolngu band--maybe you can play their CDs in your sleep and passively absorb some Yolngu world view?

Yeh getting the bike back was a bonus.
Thanks for the encouragement Theresa, actually there are quite a few bands who perform in Yolngu languages and some of them are fantastic. My favorite Yolngu performer is Geoffery Gurrumul Yunupingu of Saltwater Band. You should hear him sing. I thought I'd do exactly what you recommended until I found out that there are several Yolngu languages... It won't hurt to become familiar with the sounds though.
